the lady is a tramp--er

While Jamie and her mom and sister cruise down the west coast of the south island, I solo it down the same coast doing day hikes along the way...

Traveling alone has its lonely moments, sure.  Like when you make dinner each night.  But it has its fantastic moments too.  Like stopping to hike or have a look around where ever and whenever you want.  And it pushes me to met and connect with people.  Like Priscilla, my Abel Tasman tramping buddy; like the attractive Swiss man also on the Abel Tasman; Andy, the animated German; the Canadian in the rain; Hailey from Denver; Todd the orthopedic surgeon and white water rafting champion; or Claire the geologist from the UK with the dragon tattoo.

No, traveling with someone else doesn't impede you from these experiences.  The moments are no less valuable.  They're just different.  Hanging out with just myself is so much different than with another person or two.  Not worse or better.  Just a whole different buzz.
